Boxgirls Kenya works in the vulnerable population of Kenya mainly in the urban slums of Mathare, Kariobangi, Kariadudu, Korogocho, Kibera, Kayole, Huruma, Babadogo, Kariadudu and the rural areas of Kakamega. The organization targets young girls and women between the age of 8 years and 23 years. The girls and young women are involved in Various activities and programs where they are holistically empowered and equipped to be agents of positive social change within the communities. Boys between the age 6 – 17 years are also involved in the organization’s activities occasionally in the Gender education program. The engagement of boys in the activities is crucial in addressing the issues of gender-based violence. Boxgirls Kenya priority is to see that girls and women from marginalized communities of Kenya are reached and informed on their rights and hence increasing their opportunities of being great leaders who influence positive social change within their communities.
